Timeline
One couple who made a booking for 3-10 March in Kyiv, posted confirmation on Twitter and wrote: βHello Maria, my wife and I have just booked your apartment for one week, but of course we will not be visiting. This is just so you can receive some money.β

Another Twitter user said they had also booked a weekβs stay, and encouraged others to share the idea. A third called on Airbnb to drop its fees, which typically range from 3% to 15%, so the Ukrainian hosts receive all the proceeds.
βWe are so humbled by the inspiring generosity of our community during this moment of crisis,β Airbnb Communications Director Liz DeBold Fusco said. βAirbnb is temporarily waiving guest and Host fees on bookings in Ukraine at this time.β
